I don’t know about you, but barely a day goes by where I don’t see somebody tapping away on their smartphone with a horrendously smashed-up screen. I don’t know what it is that’s causing everyone to drop their phones so hard that they smash the screen, but people seem to do it far more often than I would have guessed.

Snapchat Beginners GuideWith Snapchat growing more popular by the day, many parents (and bloggers) are joining the service to “see what all the fuss is about”. And more than a few of them are left scratching their heads.

Since I myself struggled when I joined, I decided to write this guide as a helpful companion to those of us who have joined or are considering joining, but are finding the whole experience a bit confusing.

Snapchat has been designed for young people who aren’t yet used to the conventions of classic “User Experience” – some people think it might even be purposefully UN-user-friendly in an attempt to become off putting to “grown ups” and squares like me.

Back when I first started this blog in 2011, for instance, I wrote a piece called “Baby gadgets aren’t always baby good-gets” which outlined some of my favourite gadgets for making parenting easier – and I’ve written about issues like ‘screen time’ a few times recently.
