Since I’m currently bidding in a charity auction to host Kevin Smith’s latest movie poster (I doubt I’ll win, but it’s for a good cause) I though I should highlight one of Smith’s best stories – or at least one of the best ones I could find on YouTube… The story of his daliance with Superman!

One of the best segments from the much-underrated ‘Monkey Dust’

This guy was apparently on some American show called “Intervention”, and made it on to YouTube because he has an AMAZING cry. And as all the best YouTube stars do, he has also been Auto-tuned (see second video). Genius!

I’ve not heard much of these guys, but this song alone makes me want to watch some more of their videos. Ace!

If you’re not familiar with the god-awful Willow (daughter of Will) Smith’s song ‘Whip My Hair’, you might (if you’re brave) want to watch it here first… Either way, you don’t really need to see it to appreciate the genius that is Jimmy Fallon as Neil Young, covering the song. Stick around for an appearance by a fake Bruce Springsteen joining in…

This song has been stuck in my head for almost a week now. I don’t think I could do the “story” justice, so here’s the basic explanation from Wikipedia:

“Kevin Antoine Dodson[1] (born 1986)[2] is a former resident of the Huntsville, Alabama, Lincoln Park housing project, whose interview on local television became an Internet sensation and resulted in a pitch corrected song with The Gregory Brothers that “has sold thousands of copies on iTunes and appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 list”.[3] The interview that propelled Dodson into fame was prompted by the report of a house intrusion and attempted rape of Dodson’s sister.”

The only bit of information not included in that snippet, which gives context as to why it’s okay to like the song (in my opinion!) is that with the proceeds from the song, Dodson was able to buy his sister a new house!

Yesterday afternoon I finally got curious enough to look up the origins of the ‘Double Rainbow’ meme that I seem to hear so much about lately. I wasn’t disappointed – the original video is brilliant, but this remix that the clever people at Schmoyoho on YouTube made is even better. If you want to see the original, it’s here…

This is my second favourite scene from ‘Anger Management’ – but the only one I could find on YouTube… My favourite is the one where Nicholson’s character is listing the drugs that Sandler’s character shouldn’t take…
