From time to time I like to blog about something completely unrelated to fatherhood – usually something relating to marketing or social media, but ocassionally something completely off-the-wall. This is just such a time.

So enamoured have I been of the brillaint “FENTON! Jesus Christ, FENTON!” video, I’ve spent the past couple of days enjoying the plethora of spoof / parody / mash-up response videos that have been springing up. So, since there seems to be a lot of people doing the same, I thought I’d compile the best of the best.

As usual with parody videos, there are a LOAD of rubbish ones too, so consider this your filter for the crap – all of these are rated “pretty funny” to “absolute genius”… Oh, and yes – it’s definitely Fenton, not Benton – the cameraman from the video confirmed it on Absolute Radio this week!

As a father and a blogger – and a former movie reviewer – I was very excited to see the trailer of ‘The Other F Word‘ recently. I can’t remember the last time I saw a GOOD documentary about being a dad – apart from the odd “Fathers 4 Justice” report on something like Panorama, and the focus of those is never particular pro-dad.

‘The Other F Word’ is a documentary about what happens when a generation’s ultimate hell-raisers become dads – the ups, the downs, and the parallels to their own childhoods. It features a lot of faces you’ll recognise, even if you’re not a fan of their music – Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, skate-boarder Tony Hawk and more.

A short video which amused me quite a bit, taken this weekend when we went to feed the ducks on the Thames…

This afternoon I was lucky enough to have a bit of time of work, as I was due to look after Robert while Sara had a parent’s evening at work. So Robert and I decided to make the most of the good weather and spend some time in the garden.

I thought it would be fun to film, and speed-up – like I did with our Christmas dinner prep over Christmas.

You’ll have to decide for yourself whether or not it was “fun”, but Robs and I certainly had a good time. It certainly makes for interesting viewing from my perspective, to see what Robert gets up to when I’m out of his eye-line…

Last week’s choice of a Ted and Ralph sketch seemed to go down particularly well, and in my opinion you can never have too much Ted and Ralph at Christmas. I think I might have cried a little bit during this episode. When are they going to bring out the Fast Show and/or Ted and Ralph on Blu-Ray, so I have an excuse to buy them again?

Another classic (meaning both old AND brilliant!) piece of comedy from Messrs Fry and Laurie, back in around 1988…

Short of posting the entire Ted & Ralph Christmas special (which I can’t find on YouTube, at least not the whole of it) I thought I’d settle for one of the original Ted & Ralph Christmas episode clips… those were the days!

The most-excellent Dan and Dan have made a film for the BBC (ooh, look who’s going up in the world!) about Wikileaks. It’s very funny.
