Initial reports suggested administration was being sought, though recent brief updates have suggested store closures is the worst it could go – uplifting news for lingerie fans, who are keen to clutch any good news to their bosom in these confusing times.

Once news broke, La Senza’s PR team tried to Nip the story in the bud, hoping to avoid the crisis being padded-out by critics – and as everyone knows, they’ve had their knockers in the past.

A La Senza rep apologised for the news leaking, explaining it had been “a bit of a boob” and that the person responsible for the leak “felt like a right tit.” They went on to state: “We were hoping it might all flatten out – it felt like a storm in a d-cup to us at first.

The closure of some stores comes at a time when many brands are suffering on the highstreet. Financial conditions for 2012 are unlikely to be perky, with the cleaver set to come down on other chains – though how much cleavage will happen is yet unknown. 

Around Europe there are similar stories – though people are keen to put a positive spin on the situation.  One German commenter explained that conditions in Germany were “fine, Wonderbra!”, with another suggesting “Soon this crisis will all be a distant mammary”.

However the situation ends for La Senza, staff are surely hoping that this is rock-bottom for the chain, with more plentiful and generous profits ahead of them.

If I hadn’t been quite so knackered today, I would have taken a photo of the film set they spent the entire day building behind our offices. Somehow though, I managed to forget, so instead had to go with a photo of the nearest thing to hand. And in our house, there’s an above-average chance that whatever is to hand will probably have something to do with Robert, as this Lightning McQueen bubble bath does…

If you too have a child that has forced you to sit through the Pixar film ‘Cars’ as many time as I have, you stand a good chance of understanding why I saw this car and thought to myself “Ooh, Robert will seeing that”… It’s DJ! If that makes no sense, look at this:

Today’s photo was taken as Robert was going to bed, due to his insistence of taking his plastic mobile phone to bed with him. It’s a little ‘Bob the Builder’ phone that came free with Cbeebies magazine, which is a very big fan of. “I take photo of you daddy” said Robert, then “You take picture of me and my phone on your EYE phone, daddy!”. So I did!

In order to stave off the boredom of a quiet Sunday afternoon at home, we took Robert to the park down our road this afternoon, for a quick go on the swings. Despite our best efforts, the only thing Robert wanted to do was run around, jumping in the big piles of leaves that other Children were making. He had a whale of a time!

We decided to let off one of the Chinese lanterns which I’d bought for our trip to Hereford tonight, with mediocre results. We never got a chance to set them off in Hereford, due to the fire-risk they pose in an area full of hay barns – so we let this one off in the heart of Reading instead…! It wasn’t until we let it go that I realised I’d spotted several low-flying helicopters buzzing around the skies over Reading earlier on – thankfully none were in the lanterns flight path though, or I could have been in trouble!

Pictured today is the newest addition to the Tamar office – a snazzy (second hand – bless you eBay!) pool table, which we’ve set up in one of our “relaxation” areas. I’ve not had a go yet, as the people who have seem to be much better than me. So I think I might wait until I have to stay late one night and have a game on my own, first!

Today I spent the day at the Puddle Dock conference centre in London, attending the IAB’s annual “Engage” conference. Highlight and star of the day was a keynote talk with Jimmy Carr – himself an ex marketing man. Carr was extremely funny and surprisingly knowledgeable about digital marketing. I’ll upload some video later so you can see for yourself.
