My Year in Photos – September 18th – “A kiss for Buzz”

On a trip to Reading’s new ‘home and garden superstore’, Range today, Robert found himself a Buzz Lightyear toy. Thankfully, we didn’t mind buying it too much – unlike most of the Toy Story 3 merchandise he’s found so far, it was VERY cheap – mainly because it’s a bubble bath holder. Robert doesn’t know that though, so he was very happy – as you can see from the smacker he planted on Buzz when he was playing with him in the store…

My Year in Photos – September 17th – “The sun sets on summer 2010″

Just under a week away to the Autumnal equinox – September 23rd, if Wikipedia is to be believed – today seemed to mark the end of summer. The forecast for the night was down to single figures, and there was a definite frost on my car when I got in this morning. Oh well, at least we HAD a summer this year!

My Year in Photos – September 16th – “I think it’s another sign”

I spotted this sign while walking down Chiswick High Road – I couldn’t help but wonder how many unsuspecting tourists had been unwittingly deceived by it, seemingly pointing to one of the most famous streets in London. They would almost certainly be disappointed if they were looking for THE Bond Street – this one is just a tiny little alleyway outside the back of Marks and Spencer. Oh well, good for the tourist looking for ‘off the beaten track’ destinations I guess…

My Year in Photos – September 15th – “Dramatic sky”

I actually took quite a few photos today, but to stave-off any accusations of this blog simply being a collection of photos of my son, I’ve opted for a dramatic sky-based shot I took when I got home this evening. Happy now?! : )

My Year in Photos – September 14th – “Ready for the floods!”

Today’s photo was taken very near to our offices – it’s something I’ve often marvelled at, since it seems like such a strange sight. Unless I’m much mistaken, somebody is preparing this parking space for a future when London is just slightly flooded, ensuring that they can moor their boats here without ruining their bough. I guess it’s good to plan ahead, right?

My Year in Photos – September 13th – “The leaves on the trees…”

Walking home from the office today, I suddenly realised quite how autumnal it had become in the past couple of weeks. Despite the fact that, as I’ve said before, I much prefer the cold seasons to the hot ones, I’m still amazed at how fast the summer has disappeared.

I blame Al Gore.

My Year in Photos – September 12th – “That tree is wonky”

Walking in to town today (to do some shopping, obviously) we passed this VERY wonky tree. I don’t have much more to say about that, though!

My Year in Photos – September 11th – “It’s funny face time”

Today we headed to a pub in Reading for some goodbye-drinks for one of Robert’s friends, who is moving to Ireland with her parents. This photo is as close as we could get to a group shot – we had to resort to the “Pull a funny face” tactic to get them all to even look at us at the same time!

My Year in Photos – September 10th – “Give me 5″

For reasons I can’t really go in to (it’s to do with a top-secret presentation I am writing) I spent bits of today collecting photos of the number 5, in it’s various forms. This is just one example…!

My Year in Photos – Septmber 9th – “A place for reflection”

Having spotted one and how pretty it looked, I spent almost my entire walk back to the car this evening trying to take pictures of puddles. Annoyingly, they never got better than the very first one, which I neglected to take a photo of. But ain’t that always the way in life, eh?!
